Jason, Kristi, and David Balstad

Currently serving in Rwanda.

Jason, Kristi, and their youngest son, David, moved to Rwanda in November 2024 under Apple of His Eye Charity. They have been supporting the Muzima program as interim sponsorship directors and partnering with a vocational school to offer vocational and discipleship training.

The Balstad family has served in various ways in Africa since 2006.  Jason and Kristi began with short-term missions in Uganda and Kenya, focusing on freshwater projects, children’s and young adult ministries, church planting, and discipleship training. They also helped with a child’s sponsorship program.

Their family of five moved to southern Madagascar in 2013, partnering with the local church to support and encourage local leaders in making disciples.  They utilized Farming God’s Way to teach and help the community enhance soil fertility, crop productivity, and pest and weed control through agriculturally sustainable practices that align with the Bible. The Balstads also used farming as a tool for evangelism, supported a literacy program, and taught at bible schools. After returning to the United States in late 2016, they have continued to support and encourage missionaries and ministries in Africa.

One-time support helps fund projects, while ongoing monthly support helps with living expenses. Thank you for your support and partnering with the Lord and what He is doing in Rwanda.
